Agri Studes Receive Fund from Provincial Government

BOAC, Marinduque, Dec 18 (PIA) — Nine Marinduque State College-School of Agriculture students received funding support as part of the Lingap Pangkabuhayan ni Nanay Program of the provincial government that will fund their projects in agriculture, vegetable farming, food processing/preservation and raising of organic pigs and native chickens.

Marinduque, under the leadership of governor “Nanay” Carmencita O. Reyes, granted funding assistance to students of the MSC on December 10 at MSC Campus, Boac.

The ceremonial awarding was led by the governor, with the assistance of Elmer Marbello of the Provincial Agriculture Office (PAO) the Lingap Program Director Norma Arevalo.

Reyes commended the administration of MSC, specially its president Dr. Romulo H. Malvar, for their commitment to the provincial government in empowering Marinduque folks to develop self-reliance and provide livelihood assistance.

The student-recipients were given an orientation on the program. Also discussed in the presentation were the project guidelines. Students were allowed to share their expectations and plans using the Lingap Pangkabuhayan Program support.

In a press statement, Marinduque expressed its support, “Helping students become partners in progress-building as it sets its goals to improve youth participation to community development.” The governor added that the young Marinduqueños are examples of determined individuals who can make the best out of the present in order to strengthen their future.
